Wonderful. I hand-wind all my yarns but sometimes I forget to protect my tail. Othertimes I don’t mind that it will not be a centre-pull ball.
There was that one time I brought a large skein of lace yarn to a Lord of the Rings movie (maybe the Hobbit) and slowly but surely wound a very large ball… It took the entire movie.
