December Knitalong - goodie preorders

The December gnome countdown knitalong has become a treasured part of the year. Fun, surprises, and anticipation.

As an OPTIONAL part of the knitalong, you can order numbered wrapped goodies. During the knitalong, you will open when I tell you.

To give these businesses a chance to prepare the custom items, wrap and number the 12 little goodies, and ship them, they need to have preorders now.

They are also offering yarn kit preorders at this time.

We have even more locations this year - Canada, US, Europe, Australia!

Preorders are open from July 14. Each option has its own closing conditions. Make sure you read the listings carefully - you might need to add several items to your cart to get everything you want.

Overview and Preorders

I love creating joy and anticipation during winter’s dark days. Preparing secrets for you makes me so happy. The December gnome countdown knitalong has become a treasured part of the year.

Options will be provided so that the gnomes can either stand on their own or dangle from your bag strap, tree, wreath, or wherever you’d like a gnome to hang out.

This December, the gnomes have been designed for both DK and fingering weight. The DK gnomes will be larger, of course. They’ll still be small, but perhaps not quite ‘ornament small’. I guess that’s a matter of taste (or tree size)!

There are 3 ways to take part in the December gnome event:

1) supplying your own yarn (advice given in pattern info PDF available in November)

2) purchasing the goodie countdown kits and/or yarn sets from our Featured Shops right now (see below)

3) buying yarn kits from dyers around the world in November

You will need to buy the pattern, which will be available for preorder in November.

Every year I coordinate with The Loopy Ewe to create yarn sets, but also special count-down packages. This year we have shops from Canada, Germany, and Australia involved as well!

What are these Goodie Kits? They are specially selected treats and custom items, chosen specifically to give you a charming experience. During the December gnome knitalong, I will tell you when to open the 12 packages, adding an extra layer of anticipation and fun to your month.

Nov 2 - Three Wee Gnomes pattern goes on presale AND yarn dyers around the world offer yarn kits. The preknitalong info PDF will contain colour tips and other tidbits I think you’ll find helpful.

Dec 1-21 - daily updates and fun surprises

Jan 1 - knitalong ends, last day to enter for prizes

Jan 5 - prizes announced, pattern released as normal files

Yarn: Alte Künste offers botanically dyed yarn kits in fingering weight and in DK. There will be 3 different colour variations for fingering yarn sets and one DK set. All yarn sets include a wooden colour-scheme to add the three different yarns of your set.
