🍄 Another mystery gnome! (Yes!) This one with gnotwork!
Another dose of whimsy and charm. Another doable mystery for your needles.
This gnome features textures and cables – hence the ‘gnotwork’ pun. Cables and textures and gnomes, oh my! (Oh, yes. It’s gonna be awesome.)
If you’re new to cables, don’t be intimidated! Cabling is just knitting and purling and you’re good at that already. Plus, I’ve got loads of tutorials to help you along the way.
Gnathan is locally known for leading themed hikes. “Mossy Walkies,” “A 20k Keeps the Doctor Away,” and “Scree Slopes for Bees” are some of his highest-rated rambles. Like many gnomes, he loves the outdoors so much because a toadstool house isn’t somewhere to spend 24 hours a day, even though they’re bigger on the inside.
The clues drop May 7-26th. When you buy this pattern, there’s a preKAL info PDF with dates, yarn needs, colour advice, and other tips.
The Gnot Just Another Gnome pattern is available on Ravelry and through my Payhip shop. Please note that if you buy through the Payhip shop it is extremely important that you enter your email when prompted or there is no way to alert you when clues are updated.
Yarn: 3 x 20 g of fingering weight
Colour: You’ll want colour choices that will really show texture details – keep the colours simple so the gnome details can really dazzle. When I picked colours I was thinking of gentle spring weather and macaron cookies as I worked. Marianated Yarns has amazing gradients and I went with two soft greens for my choice. Check out her offerings and those of the other 7 dyers who’ve seen Gnathan:
Marianated Yarns – Marian provided the colours I used for Gnathan – the “What I Lichen About You” set: Woodrow (C1), The Road Less Travelled (C2), and Bumble (C3).
