I’ve been teaching more at my local LYS lately: Knit 2 Scrap 2. It’s been fun, and it’s been a good stretch for my skills. I’ve been trying to figure out how to explain things, and in ways that make sense not just to me. I work well with analogies, with little instructions to chant in my head, with pictures. But I’m also a continental knitter and 90% of my students knit english. So mentally and physically I really have to be putting myself in others’ shoes.

I’ve been making handouts, trying to find ways to use pictures and words, not to mention white space!

It’s been a good reminder as I work out the last kinks in the hat patterns I’m getting ready to publish.
